⚽ 📚 ⚽ 📚 Calling all adventure seekers, soccer enthusiasts, and fans of superhero tales - we've got just the book for you!
Former East Elementary student and current LCMS student João Sganzerla has written "Unstoppable United: The Start," the story of a soccer team made up of players with superpowers, and the unusual challenges they encounter (including robot spies and zombie battles).
Not only did João write and publish the book, he also designed the awesome graphics, and hosted two book signings in Brazil over the summer! We're so proud of his hard work, and we can't wait for many more must-reads in his future!

Voting continues for the Lone Star Varsity Pre-Season Football Player of the Year, and Pirate Football's own Holton Hendrix is in the running! Click the link and please vote OFTEN! Winner will be announced Friday. #LCPFamily

Friday night lights are a team effort - no pun intended! LCHS Football is grateful for the unfailing support of the talented Pirate Pride Band, and they couldn't let summer come to a close without treating their favorite musicians to some hard-earned popsicles! #LCPfamily

IT'S FINALLY HERE! Today is the day Pete the Pirate, Paul the Patriot, and all the rest of us here at LCISD have been waiting for!
Happy FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, LCP family!

This was a historic day for Lubbock-Cooper ISD. We opened our TENTH campus and second comprehensive high school, Liberty High School.
Thanks to Superintendent Keith Bryant, Board of Trustees President Paul Ehlers, Liberty Principal Phillip Saffel, and Sergeant Major Orlando Castillo for delivering inspirational remarks. We also thank Labatt Food Service and the LCISD Food Services Department for fantastic refreshments, Local Legends Print Factory for printing swag on-site, and a host of LCISD students for everything from greeting guests to performing the national anthem.
The dedication was packed with hundreds of members of the LCP family, from current students to alumni, parents to elected officials, administrators and staff from every other Lubbock-Cooper campus and department, architects and contractors who worked tirelessly to bring the campus to life, community members whose campaign efforts and votes made this concept a reality, and so many more.
Sure, they came to finally get a glimpse of the beautiful building and to be part of a community milestone. But, more than anything, they were there because THIS is the LCP FAMILY. We support one another and we celebrate together; we take pride in the accomplishments of our fellow Pirates and Patriots, and we show up for each other. This isn't just a school district, it's a home, and we're so thankful to call it ours!

TxDOT has announced that the intersection at Indiana Avenue south of FM 1585 (Loop 88) will be completely closed to overnight traffic on the night of Wednesday, August 16 beginning at 8:00 p.m.
At 6:00 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, August 17, all southbound lanes of traffic on Indiana will reopen, and the northbound turning lane and northbound inside lane will reopen. The northbound outer lane and right-turn lane will remain closed.
TxDOT anticipates that the complete closure will last for one night only (the night of August 16). However, for the two months following this initial closure, TxDOT anticipates that the northbound outer lane and right-turn lane of Indiana (as it crosses FM 1585 [Loop 88]) will remain closed, but all other lanes should remain open throughout the day and night.
Please note that this timeline could change. While the district has no control over this construction, we will relay any messages we receive from TxDOT. You can also find information about this project on the Lubbock-area section of the TxDOT website, https://www.txdot.gov/about/newsroom/local/lubbock.html.
