South Elementary honored their staff family veterans by displaying their photos on this "family tree!"

Many of these special guests stuck around for coffee and donuts, and were able to share incredible stories! Ms. Brown's seventh graders have been chalking the sidewalk at LBMS with compound sentences about Mrs. Laura Welch Bush, former First Lady of the United States!

Every day, but especially today, we honor the men and women who have bravely served our country! Their dedication to freedom has ensured that ALL Lubbock-Cooper students have access to education and every opportunity for success!
Thank you to the many veterans of the United States Armed Forces in our school community, including staff members, parents, alumni, and special friends of the district. Pictured here are Commander Jim Joplin (U.S. Navy), Major Lynn Stephens (U.S. Army), and Captain Andy Smith (U.S. Air Force), three Vietnam veterans who spent time with our staff welcoming them back at the beginning of the school year.
